  1. Hello,

I thought I'd dive right in and introduce myself. I go by the name Khylan, and I come from a beach suburb in Australia. I dabble with photomanipulation and was once a bookcover designer, but gave that flick because it took up too much of my work time. So, now I've found another pleasant distraction :0)

My day to day job (or work-work as I call it) is IT. Yes, heaps of fun :0o Not! I'm working on getting my own fantasy saga published. Almost finished the manuscript. Hopefully, there'll be takers...

Anyway, that's me in a nutcase.

    How about you?

  2. Woo! Hi there! I'm Aussie too :D
Animation student and freelance artist by day and night.

  3. Hello :)

I'm from Guatemala, my nice tiny country :)
Right now I’m a student (pharmaceutical chemistry) hoping to graduate soon. After that I can start a new life with Daniel(bf), and hopefully have a little more time to write and paint.
:D I also dabble with photo-manipulation, but I’m better with traditional art (oil paints mostly), I paint whenever I can but free time is a blessing.
Making it short I study I paint and write, sing sometimes too! And mixing that up you get a shade of me. :)

  6. Hey y'all,

I grew up in California and Nevada...but now live outside of Washington, D.C.
I trained as Graphic Illustrator in the military, and later went on to work for a bass fishing magazine and 2 newspapers. Currently, I have decided to take a less stressful position in a strange office full of FREAKS. I now make trophies and other awards. FINALLY I get to wear what I want, come and go as I please, say what I want and produce something that usually makes people happy.

The best trophy so far? A replacement plate for a Little League game trophy from the 1940's.

I also have the pleasure of spending my homelife with a Yorkishire Terrier named Ulysses---but we call him Bubby.

    Thanks for the info!

    Hey!

My name's Ibrahim, and, following the trend, I'm from Sydney, Australia.

Long time fan of all fantasy-related books, but, I keep getting dragged back into the imaginations of Louise Cooper.

    I'm an Aussie, too.
I discovered Louise when I picked up an interesting-looking book called Keepers of Light (from the Daughter of Storms trilogy). Yep, I started with the last book in the trilogy and the last book of the Time Master world at the time. I became obsessed with finding the rest of the books, and then hunted down the other titles in the series, stumbling on to the Indigo Saga and random stand-alones as I went.
English major at University, looking to be an editor and maybe someday open my own publishing house.

I live in Texas near Dallas now. I lived the first 18 years of my life in the small country of Panama in Central America. My first language (not used very much these days) is Spanish. I was visiting family in Dallas in the early 90s when I came across The Deceiver in a bookstore. I spent the next few years getting my hands on all Luise Cooper books I could. I still have all of them too.

  10. Hey, I'm Launa from Washington State, near Seattle. I'm eighteen years old and I've been a big fan of Louise Cooper since I took the time to alphabetize my dad's library about five years ago (what else is there to do in the summer when there's no school and it's still too cold to go swimming?) And discovered the Time Master Trilogy. I read them over and over until, finally, just a month or so ago they fell apart. When I bought replacements, I discovered the Chaos Gate Trilogy and just finished reading them.

I'm a big fan of the Time Master books, in fact they helped me get over a particularly large bit of writer's block when I was writing the third book in my YA Fantasy series. (First two were just published! Sorry, that's not Cooper related, but really, I can't help but throw it in every now and then. :) )

    Great website, by the way.

  11. Hi, everyone,

Wow, what an amazing spread across the world! It's great to see posts from so many people in so many places. Launa, thanks very much for your compliment about the website. Now, come on, tell us more about your own YA Fantasy series - what's it called, who's publishing it, where can people buy it? As the saying goes, don't be backward in coming forward... :)

It is great to see so many readers across the globe! I'm LdyDragon (aka Megan). I'm from the United States, North Eastern Oregon but I've been living in The Netherlands now for over 4 years. Long story short, I met my prince charming who is Dutch and I moved here and we married.

I'm a housewife, yay so exciting (not really) hehehe. I've been busy creating my own fantasy world, RPG system and creating my own little stories within it. No ideas yet what will eventually become of it but if offers myself and some of my friends great entertainment, which is all that really matters.

  14. Wow, I didn't realize I'd been asked a question. Well, better late than never, eh?

My series is called the Areane Journals, the first two were just released by Windstorm Creative (with the third coming out later this month.) The first book is called "The King's First Journey" and talks about a boy named Jim and his family who are chased from their home by a mob and find themselves in a fantasy world, Areane. In Areane, Jim and his sister try to find out exactly what's going on in Areane, and why they were thrown into it. The first book is really a coming of age story, but it's not your normal hero's journey. I got to have a lot of fun with thieves, asassins, politics, races, and racial tension. They're great books, even though I wrote them when I was 13.

You can find out more at my current website (it's kind of a place holder while me new site is being built) at www.launasorensen.com and you can get my books anywhere, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, my publisher (www.windstormcreative.com in the Blue Works division. Don't mind the covers, they're really just placeholders as well, being that I just got brand new, gorgeous covers.) any bookstore, really, though since they're just now launching you probably won't find it on the shelf. You'd have to order it.

Thanks for letting me talk about my books a bit. I didn't want to without an invitation, I think it would be kind of rude on another author's website. I didn't want to think that one of my favorite authors thinks ill of me. :)

  17. I'm also Australian, living in Brisbane, Queensland. I'm a software engineer and software architect, though I prefer to think of what I do as software craftsmanship. I've been reading books for as long as I can remember, primarily fantasy with the occasional SF thrown in. I've only recently discovered Louise's books, which in a way is bad, in that I've missed out for so long; however, on the good side, there's a lot for me to get through!

  18. Wow, Crafter, you HAVE let yourself in for a lot of reading! I think I ought to send you sympathies... and an ice-pack for the resulting headache...? :) And don't forget that by the time you've ploughed your way through 'em all, I'll probably have written a good few more.... Oops!

    All the best,

    Louise

  19. So far, so good, Louise! I've had an unwanted reprieve due to having trouble sourcing some of your harder-to-find books, which I believe will be reappearing on shelves before too much longer (the Time Master sequel and prequel trilogies, specifically). In the meantime, I'll make do with whatever I can find. I'm thinking of getting an e-book reader (the Cybook from Bookeen), so I'll be ready when you release "Lord Of No Time"... or anything else in e-book format!

  21. Ururguay, South America says hello as well!
God gracious... I just found out the website and couldn't help dropping by to see what's new. Even though Uruguay is a small, quiet country, Louise's creations are widely known over here. I bet they'll be added soon to the school's teaching program along with Cervante's (keep your fingers crossed!).

Can't say less than great job, not only for Louise, but for all of you that surely have read, at the very least, one of her books. Let's keep it up!

    All the best,
    Alex.

  22. Thank you for such an enormous compliment, Alex - to be mentioned alongside Cervantes is a pretty stunning thing! Coincidentally, I'm currently working with the British Council's English-teaching programme for Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking students. So maybe your words might be prophetic. I hope so!

    Very best,

    Louise

I'm from Malaysia, but my introduction to Louise's books would be when I was studying in Perth, Australia. 18 years later, now working as a software engineer, I'm STILL as much in love - if not more - with Louise's works as I was so many years back. I love reading (surprise surprise), music (listening and playing), and writing (I used to write stories as a personal outlet but haven't done that in quite a while due to work and family commitments).

Hi!! my name is Ariadna and I'm from Mexico but I've been living in Argentina for the past 3 years. It's great to see that we're all from very different places yet we have a lot in common! I first found out about the Time Master trilogy just soon after arriving in Buenos Aires, so I've been pretty much a big fan of Louise since then!! I'm trying to read as many of her books as I can find, but some of them are really hard to find!! I'm really looking forward to reading "Lord of no Time", so I'm just waiting for it to be available on the online shop =) and what else? I'm currently studying Tourism, and I love reading, movies, music, travelling, etc!

  26. My name is Lu and I'm an operating system designer and IT technician in Lynnwood, Washington USA north of Seattle. I stumbled across Louise's books with Nemesis of the Indigo series. I'm still reading that series as I am waiting for one of them to become available in a used paperback somewhere before I finish it. I have most of the rest of Louise's works, but one thing at a time. I'll be reading the Time Master books next.

I love to sing, which I do every weekend, and I also write a bit myself. 24 novel length books and an uncountably large number of short stories. All fantasy and based on whatever notion happens to pop into my head that day.

My name is Shannon and i am from Shetland which is in the United Kingdom.

Louise i have my own horse :) that is why i am so interested in the Sea Horses series.
I just recently got him and after the blue horse in Sea Horses - I decided to call him Moonlight. I like that name. My cat does not seem to like him though! haha Anyway she'll get over it. I hope you are doing well, Louise. If i may ask: Do you have any pets? I love animals. I hate it when people through garbage in the sea and animals get killed by it and i wish people would stop whaling :( Ok...I have totally changed the subject here but oh well. I hope you have a great day!

    Xx Shannon xX ;)

    Please reply! luv ya xx

    Hello all

I'm live on the east coast of Australia and I've just finished a Bachelor of Music. I'm working as a instrumental music teacher but next year I plan to move interstate and do another uni degree that will actually make me money.

I love all cats, (but can't stand dogs) and Sci-fi and fantasy are my favourite genres in both literature and film, although right now I'm reading Animal Farm by Orwell and loving it. (Born in China you see...)

I've been a fan since high school where I found Louise's books. I'm also currently re-reading Troika. It's really really humid and sticky here at the moment so reading about snowy blizzards and being huddled indoors is just the cure - I'm a winter person. As much as I love it, I am staying well away from the sticky tropics of Avatar right now - perhaps I'll read it during the winter!

Anyway glad I finally got around to introducing myself.

    Peace out!

  29. Hi (at last! - Shannon and Dream Reverie - great to hear from you both! Dream (if I may?), you're following a career dear to my heart, i.e. music. What instruments do you play?
I've read Animal Farm, too. Chilling, isn't it? When the pigs start to stand on their hind trotters and 'four legs good, two legs bad' gets transmuted into 'four legs good, two legs better'... still sends a shiver down me (as you might guess, I'm not overly fond of politicians :-))
Interesting that you're a winter person, because I'm just the opposite. I suppose it's because summer is such a rare commodity in the UK - glorious when we do get a good 'un, but few and far between. It's spring here now, the weather's fabulous (after a month of frost and snow) so everyone is keeping their fingers crossed. Though Cornwall's pretty lovely, as it never gets *too* cold...

Shannon, hello! We live at opposite ends of the UK! I'd love to visit Shetland; I'm a big fan of the traditional music up there (avidly watched Aly McBain's TV seres) and it must be a wonderful place to be at midsummer. So much light!!!
I'm thrilled that you've named your horse Moonlight. What colour is he, and how many hands high? I do have a pet; a large black cat called Simba. We got him from a rescue shelter, and he's a great big softie (have you seen his 'blat' on the Journal page? It's time he updated it, but there are some pictures and feline comments).
I agree with you about a love of animals and pollution of the sea. I live on the coast, too, and the amount of rubbish that gets washed up is horrifying... But I'd better not go too far into that here, or sparks will start flying!
