  1. I do realize that announcing this in such a medium is far from appropriate, but to stem the tide of ugly gossip and morbid interest its better in a way.

Louise Cooper passed away yesterday of an aneurysm.
More information about memorials and services will become available http://mundaniapress.blogspot.com/2009/10/louise-cooper-1952-2009.html at that blog featured by Mundania Press.

This is an incredibly loss to writing and I do mourn her with a very heavy heart, more than now let us all remember how in so many ways are lives where touched by such an amazing woman, and will continue to do so from her writtings.

I was hoping there would be some good news that her book Bad Seed would finally be published soon when I came on this site on Wed.

I feel so awful that I came to register to this site so late...

Right now, I´m in tears. I am Mexican, and a fan of Louise's work for about twenty years. I just wanted to express my sympathies to her husband Cas, her kitty, and all of the people that got to love this wonderful writer. She will be missed.

    Sorry about my bad English.

  6. I have been shamefully out of the loop from this forum, and just read the news via Drachea's DA journal. Having lost two relatives in the past two weeks, I will now mourn her passing too... it is a tragic loss and my heart goes out to her friends and family.

Rest well Louise - we will remember you always.

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Louise's passing. Louise's writings inspired me as a teenager and now as an adult, she is and always will be one of my favourite authors. Words can't express how I feel at her passing. Her books kept me company at my darkest and brightest hours.

I am a music teacher and last week I found out one of my former student's father died suddenly of an aneurysm. It came with no warning and left the family not only grieving but shocked at how quickly things deteriorated.

My heart goes out to Louise's family and close friends as well as her fans from all around the world.

By continuing to read Louise's works and introducing them to our friends and our children, we can ensure that her memory is forever cherised.

Rest in Peace Louise. I am thinking of you.

I just read the devastating news about Louise's passing. I still can hardly believe that she is actually gone.

Louise Cooper was one of those rare people who was not only immensely talented, but unfailingly gracious, warm and kind as well, as evidenced from her posts on this website. She has brought so much wonder and joy to my life through her works for the past 20+ years, and I will miss her sorely.

My deepest condolences to Cas and her loved ones during this very difficult time. Words seem so hollow right now...

I fell for the Time Master books when a teenager. Twenty-some years later, I still go back to them. Those old Unwin paperbacks (with the Robert Gould covers) are old friends. Comfortable, but they still delight me. I had the good fortune to exchange letters with Louise during my University days. She was a generous and kind lady.

The world feels dimmer now I know she's gone.

    Rest well, Louise.

  10. Just read about her passing on the BBC News Website. My sympathies go out to her family and friends. I remember reading her Time Master books 20 twenty years ago and then picking up and reading her Indigo series. I'm sorry to say I haven't been keeping up on all the books she has written since Indigo.

As of late, I've been thinking of going back and re-reading the Time Master and Indigo books. Now I feel I must do it in remembrance of her.

    Peace

Louise Cooper's books are wonderful, old friends, and I will always treasure the tales she told. The Time Master and Chaos Gate trilogies have been my favourite stories for many years, read and reread many times. With deepest sympathies to her family.

  12. Louise had given me such a great gift in my life with such few words. She was such a massive inspiration and a beacon of hope for me. I had never met someone so giving and warm-hearted as Louise. I´m still reeling at the world´s loss of her presence.
My love and deepest condolences for her family; people so lucky and blessed to her a great author in their lives.

I just wanted to say how very sad I was to hear the news of Louise passing away. I have not really been a participant in this web site, but I always stop by to read everyones comments. The Time Master Trilogy have been my favourite set of books for about 14 years now and I have read and re-read them. Thank you so much to Louise for being such an important part of my literary life. I send my condolences to her family and friends. It is very rare to see an author leaving so many warm and friendly comments to fans on a web site - this is ovbiously a reflection on what an open and kind person she was. It is no wonder that she is missed so much by her fans as they feel they have lost a friend as well as a favourite author. I will pass my books on to my children one day, and Louise will live on in the imaginations of many generations to come, I am sure.

Louise actually cared about her fans. It was such an honour to be able to communicate with her. I have never seen such talent, and I doubt I ever will again. I will miss her greatly.
