I've been a fan of Tarod and his kin from the first tme I read The Lord of No Time in the 1980s. I loved the Time Maser trilogies as well when they were published because they added further dimensions to a fascinating world. Unfortunately I no longer have any of the books, and I am not in a position to purchase them... it's a long story... and I am trying to remember the original names of Tarod and his brothers from The Lord of No Time. I'd also like the poem at the beginning of the book. Can anyone help with this info?

Hi d3,
Tarod's brother is Yandros. Then there's Aeoris and Ailind. I can't remember the rest but do know that at some stage one of the chaos lords got cast out and the lady Cyllan took the empty space because of Ygorla's machinations (please correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a LONG time since I read the chaos gate series and the Lord of no time, not sure if I've missed any names).
The poem at the beginning of Lord of No Time is
A charm of awful power
A spell that is older than the walls long buried
Of Babylon: ere Nineveh was dreamed
'Twas old beyond the power of computation
They are seven, they are seven - Seven they are;
They sit by the way, they sleep in the deep: down far
Seven they are:They are seven, they are seven - Seven they are;
Out of the Abyss they rise when day
Sinks into darkness, Seven are theyHope that helped.
If you are in Australia I can tell you of some stores around the country that stock The Master from me chasing all of Louise's other books.
Cheers

Thanks Dream,
Aeoris and Ailind are Lords of Order. I'm after the original names form Th e Lord of No Time. They were not reused in The Time Master trilogies. I can remember six of them... Yandros, Tarod, Sarisan, Lerumar, Iometh and Gilmast(?k) but not the seventh. I know Cyllan replaced one of them which was a happy moment, but it came in a later book.
One of the reasons I can't get the books is because I now live in China and the cost of buying books from O.S. is enormous.

Sorry I was totally spaced out - found the names you want
Gilmask (it's with a K) and Kradon. :-)
You're in China, cool! I was born in Beijing. Good luck finding the books though - it might be difficult but you never know things have a way of turning up around the world. :-) All the best!

Hello, d3 and Dream,
I'm impressed! I couldn't remember all the names off the top of my head; I had to look them up, but Dream beat me to it! :-) D3, there is an eBook version of Lord Of No Time. I sold it through my old website for a while, but when I changed to a new Webmaster I had to withdraw the edition for contractual reasons. Now, though, a new edition is in the pipeline, with illustrations. I'll post on the site as soon as it's on sale (not expensive, either :-))Hope you'll be able to access it from Beijing.
All the best,
Louise

Thanks heaps, Dream and Louise,for the information...I was racking my brain. I'm not actually anywhere near Beijing which is why books are so hard to find. I'm teaching English in Qiqihaer which is in HeiLongJiang province, North East China... very cold at this time of year. I don't have a western bank account and I don't know if I can access my Chinese account online with my card. I'll have to experiment. I'd love to read it again. It's one of my favourite stories. This was the book which made me fall in love with Louise's work and I made a point of reading pretty much everything else. But the world turns on and I don't have any of them any more. I loved Indigo too and another small book... The Book of Paradox, which was wonderfully twisted.

LOL, twisted. That's an apt description of just about everything Ms Cooper writes. Love it all.

Wow you're in Qiqihaer! I've always wanted to explore there - I'm part Manchu heritage and I've been told that my clan's traditional lands were in the HeiLongJiang area. Although yes, there's very little chance of finding Louise's books... Hmm - not sure if China sells the preloaded Visa card - and Chinese banks are pretty annoying in that they are not the most flexible institutions. Hope something works out...best of luck!

I'm a strong believer in "things will work themselves out". Sometimes they just take a little time. :-) I left a lot behind when I came here, and sometimes I regret it, but the things I need always find me. Whenever you come to China look me up.
