I do realize that announcing this in such a medium is far from appropriate, but to stem the tide of ugly gossip and morbid interest its better in a way.

Louise Cooper passed away yesterday of an aneurysm.
More information about memorials and services will become available http://mundaniapress.blogspot.com/2009/10/louise-cooper-1952-2009.html at that blog featured by Mundania Press.

This is an incredibly loss to writing and I do mourn her with a very heavy heart, more than now let us all remember how in so many ways are lives where touched by such an amazing woman, and will continue to do so from her writtings.

Dear Louise Cooper,

Please re-release the Indigo series!!!! I do have a couple ideas for revisions though...

#1 Give the series a happier ending (like Fenran doesn't turn into a crazy man and Indigo kills him & forever damages her relationship w/ Grimya)

#2 Did Indigo have to cheat on Fenran w/ Veness, really?

#3 The 8th and final book should focus on Indigo & Grimya, not newcomers Vinar and Niahrin (though I like the characters, maybe they should have minor roles)

But it's a wonderful series. And I think these revisions could make it an AWESOME series. Please write me back!

Hello,

I thought I'd dive right in and introduce myself. I go by the name Khylan, and I come from a beach suburb in Australia. I dabble with photomanipulation and was once a bookcover designer, but gave that flick because it took up too much of my work time. So, now I've found another pleasant distraction :0)

My day to day job (or work-work as I call it) is IT. Yes, heaps of fun :0o Not! I'm working on getting my own fantasy saga published. Almost finished the manuscript. Hopefully, there'll be takers...

Anyway, that's me in a nutcase.

How about you?

I think I love The Star Shadow trilogy a hint more that The Time Master trilogy. But that's probably because I have a thing for tragedy. :) But those two trilogies would be on a desert island with me.

The Indigo series is just phenomenal...maybe even life-changing as I read it in my earliest 20s.

As far as stand-alone books go. I really loved Summer Witch. I love the darkness and desperation and I have a strong fascination with scarecrows. I also think The King's Demon is greatness.

Its been a long time since I've posted anything on this site, and I am glad to see some new people joined and others are still around and kicking as ever. It made me very sad to see that this site seemed abandoned, but now I see the possibility of getting it back on track.
Spread the word that the site is here and comment and take a little time to discuss books, and tales and whatnot :D

What I want to suggest is to start a small book discussion, beginning with The Initiate, just to get the feel of what people think and got from the story, lets get this started, come on who goes first!? ^_^

Storm on "Bad Seed - Who Did Shar Choose?"

Hi guys.
As we know, Bad Seed was being written when Louise passed away. I don't know if it's ever going to be finished and/or published, but the one question I needed answering was this: Who did Shar choose? Was it Hestor or Reyni? Which one?!

I found Bad Seed on Goodreads.com and they provided a blurb.

Turns out the father of Shar's children was actually Kitto.

From the Goodreads website:
"Brother and sister Marloe and Silve are children of a burgeoning and powerful dynasty. Their mother, Shar, was a prodigiously powerful channeller of supernatural forces as a child, and their father, Kitto has an almost telekinetic affinity with animals of all kinds. Now, Marloe and Silve have come of age. As teenagers they are beginning to understand exactly what gifts they have inherited from their parents. And now they are faced with their first deadly challenge when a century-old sorceress kidnaps their dear friend Jianna, with a plan to channel her own particularly twisted brand of magic through the girl. Jianna will be left an empty shell, if Marloe and Silve cannot find her in time. It will take every ounce of their powers, and will find them tackling spirits and entities on a terrifying scale. But they must find the courage and take on evil, to claim back good..."

Moonset is finally available on Mundania! Got the eBook the moment I saw it... need instant Louise Cooper gratification... and devoured it within a day. What an incredible book... a fitting, albeit heartbreaking culmination to a powerful trilogy. Not going to spoil the book for anyone who hasn't read it (and I earnestly urge all who haven't to get hold of a copy). Louise, you have indeed crafted a masterpiece which is so raw and intense... truly memorable. Thank you so much...

I am about to record the final audio book in Louise's "Mermaid Curse" series - "The Golden Circlet". I was so very sad to read the news of her death and hope this recording will be a tribute to her - we exchanged emails last year about an earlier book in the series and, like her friends, I found her full of warmth, humour and vivacity. Her writing in the series is gorgeous, vividly evoking the Cornish coast and sea-life which she clearly knew so well, combined with the magical undersea world of shining fish-tails, weed forests and shell jewellery.
My heart goes out to her husband .. what a sad loss. I shall treasure the books and my brief connection to Louise.
Googling for it shows it available from a lot of dodgy sites and some saying it is free, so I guess a little help thanks? Saddened that such a talented and personable person should leave us at such an early age. Next job is to get to the bookstore and start reading.
Thanks for the chat,Cas. Nice meeting you in the alley way!! Maybe see you in April when I am down again. Jan

Hi all and Louise!

I'm a long time fan and visitor, first time poster.

I was first bitten by the Louise Cooper bug during high school where the library had an extensive collection of the books. I stopped reading for a bit when I was finishing high school but now I am older (and hopefully a little wiser) I am really getting back into the books again, especially as I'm finding now I understand better the decisions some characters made (ie Indigo's devastating one in Aisling) which I couldn't comprehend in high school.

Alas I'm in Australia where the books are now out of print. I have had a real struggle trying to find them over the past couple of years. However I've had some recent successes. With the falling Australian dollar, I simply can't afford to buy them from Mundania as the books plus shipping blow out of proportion. Having said that, tracking them down has been so much fun!

My books have come from all over the place but I've had so much success at the Lifeline Bookfest in Brisbane. (PS There was one copy of Eclipse, 2 copies of Nemesis and one of The King's Demon still there as of yesterday for any Aussies here...)

Below is the link to a photo of my collection. I have dupilcate copies because some of them are deteriorating and coming to pieces and I have found newer books; especially that old copy of Mirage and the 2 from the Time master. (I'm too scared to even read them) and in the Indigo saga because I didn't want to separate books that clearly came from the same personal collection.

My favourite would have to be The Book of Paradox - I found this in a small bookshop a few months ago! In the past 2 days I have found The King's Demon, Eclipse, Moonset and the newer copy of Mirage. I finished my entire Indigo collection last month when I found the last 2 I was missing - Troika and Avatar in a small bookshop in Hobart, Tasmania.

Thanks Louise for not only writing in such a uniquely different style to other authors out there, but for having THE most original character names ever! (My favourites are Shalune, Calliope and all the names of the Brabazon family)

Hello there! Although I discovered Louise Cooper by reading the Time Master Trilogy about... ummm six years ago and discovered this site a year ago, for one reason or the other I hadn't registered here ^^'
I must say, from the first two lines in the Initiate I fell in love with your writing! Unfortunately, here in Mexico where I live, the books were practically impossible to find. It took me three years to find the outcast and only a year ago did I find the Master! And I'm still missing the rest, which since there's no other choice, I'll be ordering by mail.
But in the meantime I most tell you Louise, ever since reading your books you became an inspiration for me. I love writing and have been doing so for years now, and I can only think that someday I want to be half the amazing writer you are. Really. And actually one of my dreams is not only to get my stuff publized, but that someday you might as well read it.

What else is everyone reading that reminds you of Louise's work?

Although her work is a bit darker Anne Bishop's novels remind me of the way Ms. Cooper builds worlds and characters and weaves a bit of romance into her tales. Her Black Jewels series, the Ephemera pair, and the Tir Allain trilogy all remind me of Louise Cooper.

A new cover for one of Louise Coppers most breathtaking trilogies has emerged, its on Mundania.com coming soon list, Its the cover for Star Ascendant, and well again I'm kinda confused to whom that really is.

I am absolutely thrilled excited and blown away that this trilogy is being brought back so many more people can read it and BELEIVE ME its something you do not want to miss. Its a set of books that will leave you breathless.

But... I do kinda have issues on the cover, if that's Benetan Liss well... his hair was black wans't it? and if its Vordegh well his attire is a bit too flashy for an aesthetic. Plus the belt... i gotta talk about the belt... it looks like a paint pallet not shining gorgeous Chaos stones, and PLEASE don't tell me that's Savrinor! (personal opinion yes but... I just might have to shed a tear if that's it) What do you all think?

Wow its been a LONG time since I posted ^_^ And tihihi finally someone took up the name Cyllan (you are right Drachea I should have hurried...411: I go by the name CyllanPennor nearly everywhere I am enrolled in or post)
Just in case anyone was wondering I'm doing great, my health has been in shambles near to 8months now, hence the low participation and the "gulp" huge gap in the promises i made bout the fanfict. I hope to remedy that soon.

So here I am suggesting something new that hopefully will work out.
Since the world most are familiar with is the Chaos and Order one, I suggest (if its OK by Louise)that we as a community re-write or continue a chapter just for fun. Like writing out a chapter on Ygorla on the white isle and her having a talk with elementals before she controlled them. things like that. What do you all think?

I've been a fan of Tarod and his kin from the first tme I read The Lord of No Time in the 1980s. I loved the Time Maser trilogies as well when they were published because they added further dimensions to a fascinating world. Unfortunately I no longer have any of the books, and I am not in a position to purchase them... it's a long story... and I am trying to remember the original names of Tarod and his brothers from The Lord of No Time. I'd also like the poem at the beginning of the book. Can anyone help with this info?

Dear Louise,
First we want to wish you a very Happy New Year!
We are a group of French pupils. We're 13. Our school is called Collège Jean 23 and it is in Mulhouse, a town near the Swiss and German borders.
We've just read Emergency Landing. Some of us are not too keen on science fiction but we all liked your story, especially the twist at the end. We were so surprised to discover that the passengers were extraterrestrials.
We would like to know what happened after the landing because obvuiously they didn't blow up the Earth!
Do you have other stories that are not too long and not too difficult to understand?
Best wishes
A class from France
